Ideas on calories do not leave us alone. Calorie - is a unit of energy measure. The quantity of calories is measured quantity of energy, which your organism will receive with food and then will use it for maintenance of all processes of ability to live: a good metabolism, palpitation, growth of hair, treatment of wounds, increasing of muscular fabric, etc. we receive calories only from 4 components of food: from fibers and carbohydrates (4 calories per 1 gram of food), alcohol (7 calories per 1 gram of food) and fat (9 4 calories per 1 gram of food). There are no calories in vitamins, minerals and water.
For maintenance of optimum weight it is necessary to know, how many calories you receive daily. For this purpose start to conduct a special diary, where you will write down everything that you have eaten for the period equal, at least, to two week-days and one day off (in fact many people eat differently on days off). Calculate the quantity of calories on each product, combine, and then divide total into quantity of days during which you kept your diary. In such way you will receive an average quantity of calories which you consume every day.
Other way approximately to calculate quantity of consumed calories is to use the special formula:
- If to you are 18-30 years old, multiply the weight on 6,7 and add 487;
- If to you are 31-60 years old, multiply the weight on 4 and add 829;
Then multiply the turned out number on 1,3, if you have an inactive way of life or your work assumes constant stay in office behind a computer, and you are not engaged in exercises at all, multiply the turned out number on 1,5, if you are moderately active, visit a sports hall 2-3 times a week; multiply the turned out number on 1,6, if you are quite active and you are doing different kinds of sport at least 4-5 times a week or your work is connected with physical activities; multiply the turned out number on 1,9, if you are very active and every day you visit sports club and you are constantly moving.
