Olive oil is better than diets


Addition of olive oil of the first squeezing or nuts into the food is much more useful than a low-calorie diet at cardiovascular diseases and adiposity.
Such information has been given by the experts of Municipal institute of medical researches in Barcelona consider.
372 people with symptoms of cardiovascular diseases and adiposity at the age of 55-80 years have taken part in experiences on a voluntary basis. They were divided into three groups. The first and the second group were eating dishes of the Mediterranean kitchen with a stress on the raised maintenance of an olive oil and with the addition of almonds and wood nuts. Representatives of the third group adhered to the standard low-calorie diet. After three months the received results have been compared.
The results of experiments have shown that levels of so-called bad cholesterol have decreased at representatives of the first and second groups. Among them the given process was more significant, than in the third group. It is obvious that it is a question of oxidation of lipids, which leads to change of lipoproteins’ formation that, in turn, promotes formation of atherosclerotic plaques and to narrowing of a gleam of vessels. Components of olive oil and nuts slow down process of oxidation and thus protect from the threat of atherosclerosis occurrence.
In this case the olive oil of the first squeezing is much more useful, than all other kinds of this oil. It (together with vegetables, fruit and nuts) possesses useful properties and prevents cardiovascular diseases and adiposity.
