Women’s fitness peculiarities


1. Percent of a muscular fabric in women’s organism is lower (but it contains more fatty fabric) than in the man’s organism, that is one of the reasons why a level of the basic exchange of a female organism is lower than man’s. In other words, power expenses for kg of weight of women’s body is less, than in men’s body.
2. The ability to use fat acids as an energy source is the main feature of a female metabolism. At the same time, any surplus of carbohydrates is easily postponed for emergency as fatty depots. It is connected with the several reasons. First of all, women’s organism has another reaction to increase of sugar in blood. Secondly, their sensitivity of peripheral fabrics insulin differs from men. And, the third reason, as it was already mentioned, is the smaller muscular weight in which carbohydrates are reserved in the form of glycogen. These facts should be necessarily considered at drawing up both dietary and training programs for women.
3. At the same time, each gram of a muscular fabric of female organism has the higher ability to accumulate glycogen as power “canned food” that is a general tendency of an organism to accumulation of nutrients for emergency.
4. Women’s physical working capacity is directly connected with phases of menstrual cycle. So, working capacity, as well as power opportunities, is maximal just after menses and up to ovulation.
